The Board Attorney: The Role and Responsibilities

We invite you to join us on Friday, August 28th at 12pm (CDT) for a webinar featuring Jonathan Vogel, Managing Attorney of VOGEL PLLC. Jonathan is a former Deputy General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Education, as well as a former federal prosecutor and civil rights attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice.
School board attorneys play a critical role in helping boards of education fulfill their legal responsibilities and maintain effective governance. During this webinar, Jonathan will identify the characteristics of a highly effective board attorney and help board members understand the proper role of the board attorney, when to seek legal advice, the attorney-client privilege, and how to maximize the attorney’s value.
Participants will gain a better understanding of the board attorney’s role and responsibility as the board’s trusted legal advisor, including guidance on board governance, policy, legal compliance, employment matters, contracts, litigation, and risk management and other applicable laws while minimizing legal risk.
