Model Policy
Introduction of Controversial Issues into the Classroom (WILL)
Consideration of controversial issues has a legitimate place in instruction. For purposes of this policy, a controversial issue means anything that is the subject of intense public argument, disagreement, or disapproval. This model policy provides guardrails for classroom discussion of controversial topics related to the curriculum or instructional purposes.
Student Discipline Model Policy (WILL)
Policies and rules are in place to ensure that every student gets the most from their education program. It also ensures that all students and staff are treated fairly in the school environment and comply with the school district’s expectations for student conduct. This model policy outlines the stipulations for expectations regarding conduct in classrooms and procedures for behavior that interferes with the teacher’s ability to effectively instruct students.
